How to adjust the time zone in a chart?
With the addition of new charts in MetaStock version 18, many new features are included. We have a better way to adjust the time zone in a chart. There is a new setting in Chart Options that works better in most cases. Changing this setting in the Trading Sessions tab is declaring the time zone that the trade sessions are defined in. We would not recommend changing it in most cases, because it will use the daylight savings for the time zone that is set and that may cause unintended side effects on how the data is filtered and displayed. Also, it causes custom sessions to be defined so we will no longer get updates from the data provider. The time zone on the chart options page controls the time zone that the chart data is displayed in only and will not have other unintended side effects. To adjust this setting, follow the steps below:
MetaStock v18 --> Current - Open MetaStock.
- From the Power Console, select the Charts button.
- Open the desired chart.
- Type in the instrument using the Instrument(s) field at the top.
- Select instrument using Custom Online Data Lists or Public Online Data Lists.
- Select local data instrument using Local Data Lists.
- Open the Format menu.
- Select Chart Window.
- From the Chart Options tab, change the Time Zone field to the desired time zone.
- Click OK.
If you have already adjusted this setting in the Trading Sessions tab, it should be changed from the Trading Sessions to the Chart options tabs. To fix the setting, follow the steps below: - Open MetaStock.
- Select the Trading Sessions tab.
- Click the Defaults button at the bottom.
- Select Restore defaults for this page.
- Select Chart Window.
- From the Chart Options tab, change the Time Zone field to the desired time zone.

What time is data available after the close of the market from Refinitiv DataLink?
Refinitiv DataLink starts to gather updates to the Daily data an hour after the exchange opens for the cross (†) symbol on the website https://www.metastock.com/products/endofday/reutersDataLink/?exchanges. This data is available for users of MetaStock 13 and above at those times (This includes DownLoader 15). MetaStock 12 and prior, as well as DownLoader 11 and prior, have the last update for the day available after the close when the last snapshot is taken. For instance, the US Stock Exchanges will update at 4:30 PM EST. The data is then updated with corrections within the next 4 to 5 hours. This means US Stock Exchange data is corrected by approximately 9:00 PM EST. If data collection is done previous to the corrections, the corrections will be picked up during the next day's download. Anything that trades on the NASDAQ will have corrected volume reported after the extended hours trading closes. Keywords: DC, EOD, Refinitiv DataLink, DownLoader

Why is volume missing for index symbols?
Refinitiv DataLink like most data providers, does not provide volume data for indices, you will not receive volume when data is collected on index symbols such as the NASDAQ Composite, S&P 500, and Dow Jones. Since an index is not traded the way a stock is, there is no volume to report. Keywords to include: DC, EOD, Refinitiv DataLink
